Alaska Professional Hunters Association Endorses Governor Murkowski

(Anchorage) Today, the Alaska Professional Hunters Association endorsed the re-election of Governor Frank Murkowski. The APHA cited Governor Frank Murkowski's understanding of wildlife management and allocation issues.

"I'm gratified that the Alaska Professional Hunters Association has endorsed my candidacy for re-election as Alaska's Governor in recognition of my continued efforts to be a good steward of our natural resources," said Murkowski. "The hunters have always contributed to habitat protection through their hunting licenses and game permits, and I'm honored to have their support."

The APHA endorsement cited that Murkowski "has chosen not to "play politics" with urban versus rural, subsistence versus sport or commercial and has chosen the course of advocating for abundant wildlife resources which are available to all Alaskan's whether they are hunters, wildlife viewing enthusiasts or people who simply care to know that these resources are being cared for."
